About Eichler Homes of Saratoga, Saratoga
Eichler Homes of Saratoga is the only tract with “Eichler” in its name: 35 Claude Oakland homes built in 1964 and 1965 on Shubert Drive and De Havilland Drive. Forty-seven were planned.

Character
Only two of the 35 homes no longer read as Eichlers, which makes this one of the best-preserved tracts anywhere. Many have pools. Several San Jose State faculty were early buyers.
Remodeling rules
In 2017 Saratoga declared 19277 Shubert Drive historic, so permit work there goes to the Heritage Preservation Commission. There is no tract-wide historic district.
