About Stanford Gardens & Oakdell Park, Menlo Park

Stanford Gardens and Oakdell Park are Eichler’s earliest Menlo Park groups. Stanford Gardens, about a dozen homes mostly on Evergreen Street, was completed in January 1950. Oakdell Park added 14 homes on quarter-acre lots on Oakdell Drive.

  • Original prices: $19,500 (Stanford Gardens) to $25,000–$29,500 (Oakdell Park)

Remodeling rules

Menlo Park requires extensive neighbor notice for major changes but has no Eichler-specific protection, and about 20 Eichlers have been lost to teardowns or remodels since 1979.
